  • Aluminum Siding patch/repair??

Hi, I accidentally drilled through my aluminum siding from the interior when drilling a hole to run cable. I would like to patch the hole to make it look reasonably consistent with the rest of my siding. The hole is, at most, 1" in diameter. What is the best way to do this?

    Thanks!

Unless you replace the piece of siding, the only patch I can think of would be to get some caulk of the same color, put a piece of foam behind it for backing and caulk over the hole.

You can actually use Bondo for this, but it's probably a very small hole, and not worth buying such a large can of material. Besides, you would have to sand the patch after it dries, which means finding paint to match. This could be tricky, the original color has probably faded, and new paint will stand out like a sore thumb unless you cover a large area. Kactuskid's idea of filling it in with caulk will probably save you a lot of time and effort.
