Fireplace insert

I had a basement den with wood burning fireplace I converted to a bed room. I closed off the fireplace with a metal plate and installed a LPG heater vented through the plate into the chimney. Is there a LPG log system I can safely use in my bedroom? Code won't allow unvented logs in the bedroom. The fireplace is several feet below ground level so I can't use the typical direct vent which goes straight out the wall.

you might need to use a powered vent into the chimney. propane when it burns produces carbon monoxide and water vapor.
