Our home has a garage turned den. The original entry door is still in place and a french door was put in place of the garage door. We would like to close off the original door and build a closet on the inside. The exterior of the house is brick, we know that closing in the doorway with brick to match is not an option ( the house was built in the sixties and the color of the brick would be hard to match, etc.). Any ideas that would be appealing to look at from the outside. There is a small concrete pad on the outside and we thought about building a shed/ storage closet onto the outside to hide where the old door is. Just looking for options.

Shelley,
If you do go with the shed then you could get away with using any exterior rated material on the outside.
Another option might be to replace the door with a window and then filling in the area below with a vertical siding or similar material. This would allow light in but you would have to put your shed somewhere else.
Good luck,
Jim
