    Kitchen countertop

Is it possible to tile over an existing countertop without removing it without too much difficulty?

    I found this somewhere:
"Rough up the counter with some sandpaper and then use a regular thin set cement mixed with a latex additive rather than water. It will bond to anything."

What material will you be tiling over?

      Stacey,

Further to Troys post. As long as the current surface is stable and intact you can go over it using the right adhesive and surface prep. If the current counter is cracked, sagging or damaged (ie: by water) then you should remove it and start with a new good base.

      Good luck, Jim
