I am a new homeowner and my dining area has wainscoting which I would like to remove. I am wondering how tedious a process this will be. I am planning to texture the wall once removed. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

if you want to save the wood, remove it step by step. first take off the top moulding, then the next moulding. if there is a strip at the top running the length of the wall(s) remove this next. Now look in the corners. one of the slats is nailed with finishing nails. remove the nails then each double wide slat is nailed in the groove to furring strips that run the length of the wall. Use a wide pry bar and pry at the nail locations. remove the furring strips and you should be down to the studs.
