  • Old windows

Hi, I have a 1925 Colonial Revival home I restored. It is a fairly large home with 32 windows if I remember right. They are the old sash & weight windows (6 divided panes-upper) and would I would really like to keep them. However, they do let in a lot of cold and cleaning them on this 2 1/2 story house is not a task I care to do.

My question: I have heard of companies that will convert old windows into the tilt windows. Does anyone know if there is company that does this that is may be located in my state (NE)?

Also, If I were to spend this money(and I'm sure it would be costly) to convert them are there any other things that I could do to make them more energy effecient?

New windows look like just that, new so I hesitate to even consider purchasing 32 new windows.

I'd love any thoughts, advise, suggestions. Thanks.

double glazed windows would work with a nitrogen charge between the panes. check out pella and andersen windows in your area.
