I have a beautiful roll top desk but the backing on the rolls has torn so the top of the desk is not useable' Does anyone know where i can get some backing for roll top desks'

use regular ol canvas or a ship's sail material. you could also check out www dot rockler dot com - they got stuff for woodworking.
