  • GE Microwave with hood problem

I had some great help here with my ice maker problem and save hundreds of dollars!! So I'm hoping someone can help with this one too.

I have a GE microwave over the stove with a built in hood. The bulb broke in the hood light and I can't get it out and broke the socket part of it trying. I need to remove the socket. Anyone have any ideas on how I can take the socket out to replace?

    Thank you for any help.
The model is a GE EM03000HSS01

    Unplug first!

I'm afraid I do not know exactly how the socket is accessed on that model, sorry.

I will tell you to be sure to unplug the unit from the wall before servicing (and even before just replacing the bulb!) because a short during that procedure is known to cause extensive damage the electronic control in the process. That makes for an expensive ($$$+) light bulb replacement.

Thank you for trying. At least I'll be able to get the part if I ever figure out how to get to it.
