Kenmore Washing machine smells like rotten egg

My 8 yr old kenmore elite- we started getting a rotten egg smell during the water draining cycle of this clothes washer. I tried using one of the tide "washing machine" cleaner packs, twice, but the smell continues every time the water drains. Any suggestions to getting the rotten egg smell to go away?

Front load? Top load??

Are you sure it is coming from the machine and not the drain? Maybe the drain's vent is blocked?
