kitchenaid refrigerator ice dispenser problem

Hello. I have a problem with the ice dispenser. I can hear the motor working when its in room temperture(when I unplug and wait for couple hours), but I dont hear anything when the freezer is cold(when the freezer is turned on). Does the motor has to be replaced?

I don't understand the question. There is one motor, ok maybe two in the freezer section. One operates the ice bin auger. the other operates the harvester device to eject cubes.

I think I have the same problem. My kitchen aid makes the ice, but when I press the button on the door, no ice comes out. I checked the easy stuff to make sure no ice was stuck or blocking the ice auger. When I press the ice button, the lcd display creates the ice animation as if it is working. My thought is that the motor is off somehow. Not sure if this helps but it worked fine last night and nothing this morning.

Any one been through this with any words of advice before I open up the freezer door.
