Clothes dryer filter

I came across an interesting article regarding the clothes dryer filter...normally you remove the filter and clean out the lint and when it's clear you put it back...well sometimes this filter mesh will look clean but will actually have a clear film on it which will block the air...to try it I took it to a sink and let a little water run onto the mesh expecting it to run thru..well it did not as this clear film was blocking it..so gently scraping off this film did the trick

Fabric softener sheets?

Do you use fabric softener sheets? At least one dryer manufacturer recommended against using them for that very reason.

DanO...my wife does not use the fabric softener any more.... she did when I did my little experiment...but it's good info to know where this film is coming from
I believe it could be dangerous
