  • Ge Nautilus Portable Dishwasher problem

My dishwasher seems to run thru all cycles & drains throughout, but when it is completely done with all cycles, there is a ton of water left in the tub. When it does drain throughout, it drains a good amount. What could be wrong?

    Thank you,
    Res

    Model number?

    GE Nautilus Portable Dishwasher problem
I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number. If you post it we can at least look it up to see what appliance design you're dealing with to try to answer your question.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

I have the same problem, GE Nautilus model GSC3400F00BL. It won't completely drain. I took the screen inside the tub and found some debris and removed the hoses to and from the pump but found nothing else. Ran the dishwasher again but still have water in the tub.

On that model a common cause of your symptom is the piston assembly of the diverter 'check valve' deteriorated. The piston assembly (see the following link) is in 'check valve' in the sump at the base of the tub below the gridded sump cover (also linked below). See picture included for a general idea of its location.

LINK > Sump Cover (piston is below this)

The cone shaped part in the middle of the piston assembly frequently wears out causing either washing or draining problems. Its movement can also be hampered by just debris. It would be a good thing to check.

Thanks Dan. I looked up the part and for the $10, looks like an easy fix.

IF that's the problem, yes. Has anyone inspected the one in the machine now for signs of deterioration to see if it is a possibility? I don't usually suggest people replace parts on a guess... even if inexpensive.
