    disposal isn't working

    I am having a problem with my garbage disposal. When I turn the disposal on I hear a hum type of noise. I hit the reset button which is located at the bottom(red button) and I have also unplug it and plug it back up. the only i get is the hum. Please advise.

      How old is disposal? If you have had it for a while, then I would say it is done! Home Depot and $50 later and your problem is solved. That is what I did!

          We had this disposal since 12/1997 when we move into this new house. Is it east to install.
