  • Maytag Ice maker model UK11000AXX

The rotating fingers got stopped by something that fell over into them, now the cycle wont run. I have removed it/ opened the end, and found the cam out of sync with the ejecter bar fingers. My question is, can I power the motor (hotwire it) to rotate cam back into alignment, then reinstall? Would this work?

    Thanks

That icemaker is Whirlpool's 'modular' icemaker design. You can read about its operation at the following link:

I do not know if you can do what you're intending. I've never heard of anyone doing it... nor needing to.

If needed you can purchase just the 'module' part of the icemaker rather than replacing the whole thing.

    JFYI
