  • Amana Gas Dryer rumbling

    Hi,

My Amana gas dryer(lga 10aw) rumbles very loud when spinning. After warm up or about 30 min. later it quiets down somewhat. Is it the bearings or rollers or something else.....what Im I looking for when I get it apart...thanks for helping

There are rollers that support the drum at the rear and low friction slides at the front that the drum rides on. If either were worn a rumbling could occur when the drum turns.

Those components should be inspected for possible problems.

    LINK > LGA10AW Front Drum Slides (2 req'd)

There might also be a chance a lint buildup on the felt drum seals or deterioration might also produce such vibrations.

None of those parts are overly expensive if needed... if looked into in a timely fashion. Letting things like this go can lead to requiring more extensive repairs to correct. I suggest you not put off looking into it too long and/or use it sparingly until it can be.

Thanks so much for your reply. Apon further inspection w/o taking apart yet, the drum feels lose and seems to have a lot of play when I shake it back and forth. Next move is to dive in and see whats what. I'm sure we will be talking again..lol...thx

It is a common failure point on dryer models that use them.

so I'm replacing both along with the belt.
I'd suggest replacing both rollers together and replacing the belt won't hurt doing while you're there.

Let us know how you eventually make it with it.
