Hi Folks,
At the weekend we had some granite backsplash fitted. Before the granite could be fixed to the wall I had to remove the old formica stuff that was glued to the wall above the stove. I had previously moved the stove about 6" from the wall with no problems. I moved it out a little more so that I could get better access behind the stove to get the backsplash out. I was using a 36" steel ruler to slide behind the formica so as to separate it from the wall but, for some reason, that didn't work. When I gave up that idea the stove started to beep at me and flashed up -FC- which we have since found out means Fault Code and the problem is related to the wiring harness or the power relay board. I saw only one wire behind the stove and it appears to be securely fastened although I will check this again tonight to be 100%. With the power on the stove continues to beep until Cancel is pressed and then the beeping starts again after about 20seconds. When the power is reset (via the breaker) it starts beeping again after about 20seconds. The beeping did not happen as I moved the stove so I don't think it's directly related to that. I'm thinking that I maybe knocked something loose with the steel rule. In short the only thing that happened to the stove was me moving it out from the wall and waggling a steel rule behind it.
My question is, has anyone else had a -FC- problem with a Jennair stove and, if so, what was the problem? I have no qualms calling out a service engineer but I don't want to pay $120 just for the guy to come out and plug in a wire that I have loosened.
Edit: here is the model number -- SVD48600B
Cheers, Max
