Washing machine will not spin out.

Hi, I have a problem with my Norge 20 #er washer. It filled up went though the wash & got to the spin cycle & stopped, I took off the back & didn't help. I sucked all the water out with my shop vac. I looked underneath & saw the belt , I could see the pump and motor & whatever the other thing was, I could turn the whole thing. I read in the forums that I needed to check the lid switch, well with the dial on spin I used a stick and pushed, I got a hum & it dimmed the lights in the basement so I stopped. It will fill but not spin out
any help will be appreciated.

Will it adgitate ok... also spin the basket by hand... you may have something between the tub and basket
