  • GE Profile Top Load Washer making a lot of Noise

    The model # is WPSR2100N0WW.

When the tub spims it is really noisy. It has grown worse over the last ~10 uses. It wasd not really noisy in the past, but once it started it has gotten quite bad. I am trying to figure out what the problem is rather than buying a new appliance. It is only 5 years old. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a problem with the tub drive link or spin clutch...go to the link above for appliance repair and you will find a complete DIY guide to check it.

Thanks for the reply. I removed the front panel and found that there is oil on the front panel and floor. It looks like it is coming out just above the drive belt under the transmission. Can anyone suggest where I can get the part quickly and cheaply? Can I get it online? Thanks! I have done a few google searches and am coming up empty.

The actual Model # is WPSR3100W0WW

quote:there is also water coming from tub when the agitator turns.
Is the tub trying to spin at the same time as the agitator is agitating?? If so, that is a common sign of a transmission failure
