Hello,
Maytag #LAT8606AAE
Every once in awhile I will hold a knife between the door and the lid switch if I want to watch what is in the machine. One must ask why would anyone want to watch water go down? I promise once fixed I will never do this again. Well I did it the other night and the machine died. Nothing works, it is just DEAD? Someone suggested that it may be the lid switch? My husband took it to the parts shop and was told that it may or may not be dead, some of the connections "seemed" to be working. Not sure what they meant my that? They weren't sure if it was totally dead. Is there any way we can tell?
Is the fuse in the lid switch?
I can't believe a Maytag dies after 5 years...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you, John's wife
aka - the laundry lady
It will cost minimum $150 for service call, diagnoses and parts, that's not many parts...
Would it be better to buy a new machine if we can not repair ourselves? Thanks again.
