did you repair the vertical blinder ever?

anyone have a link to repair a vertical cellular blinder? I broke the cord, now no matter what kind of strategy to install the cord again, it doesn't work.

For most vertical blinds the configuration of the cord is the same as for a traverse rod. It depends upon whether you desire a center opening <-----< >----->, with two sections moving to opposite ends, or an end open where the entire panel moves to one end-------------->.

On the pull string end of the support rod there are two pulleys and on the opposite end there is one. Begin by feeding the cord in over one pulley, pull it to the opposite end, around the pulley and back to the pull string end where it goes over the other pulley and out.....

Examine the inside end of the sliding panel section and you will see what looks like three little plastic fingers, two pointing up, and one down(Or vice versa). First slide the panel until it is 1/2 open.

FOR END OPENING, usually the cord closest to the front of the support rod is connected to the moving panel. simply fold the cord around the fingers, under one, over the next, and under the last one.

You should now be able to pull the cords in the normal manner and the panel will slide end to end. If your cord has the plastic pull tassels on the end, pull one cord until the panel is fully open then mark the cord near the floor so you can cut it off and attach the plastic end, then pull the opposite cord and repeat the process.

FOR CENTER OPENING- Begin by pulling each panel to the 1/2 open position. Attach the front cord to one panel in the same manner as above, then attach the rear cord to the other panel in the same manner. Now pull either cord and mark the end at the floor, cut and attach the end tass, then pull the opposite cord and repeat.

I don't quite understand your describtion due to my english. But I do get the meaning of your picture. I tried like the following.



But my blind still can only slide to right side. Sliding to left side is still untouchable. Did I do anything wrong?

If you want it to move to the opposite end from the pull strings attach it to the rear cord.

Could you clarify this? What should be attached to the rear cord? By the way, my two cords are parallel, not one on above, another sits on the bottom like you drew, do you think I still can use your strategy.

I have another question: it is rather hard to pull the cords after I put on those knots. I remembered it is not that hard when the blind is OK. I even used Candle to smooth the cord but still have same results. Do you know what happened?

The illustration is a top view looking down into the frame.

The top cord in the illustration would be the one nearest the wall. The bottom cord in the illustration is the one toward the front, or room side.
