i have a maytag quiet series 100 dishwasher that is one year and one week old (hence no warranty) that keeps stopping in the middle of the rinse cycle. when i open the door, the dishes are clean and wet, and the bottom of the washer is full of water. on the front of the door, none of the lights are on and none of the buttons work.
last week when this happened, i siphoned out all the water in the bottom of the washer, pulled it out of the cabinet and looked to see if there was some loose wiring, but nothing seemed obviously wrong. i checked the circuit from the dishwasher to the breaker, nothing wrong. i left it out of the cabinet so i could call a repairman.... when, suddenly 8 hours later in the middle of the night, the dishwasher started running! i put it back into the cabinet and have run 4 more loads without problems.
now, it's stopped again. i took apart the drain connection to the disposal, and there's no clogged hose. i could even siphon water through that hose. there's no clog in the disposal either. the floating overflow device is loose and working.
any ideas??? i am very thankful for any suggestions.
