    badger model 5-71

my Badger disposal, model 5-71 just started leaking, can it be fixed, new seal or something, or is it time to get a new one?

It depends if the water has gotten into and damaged the bearings or not but in most cases with leaking through the unit, replacing it is usually more cost effective.

BTW. If you purchase a model of a similar size made by the same manufacturer (In-Sink-Erator in your case), no plumbing changes may even be required and you can just 'swap it out'.

    JFYI
