we have a top mount whirlpool that is about a year old. bad us, we've never changed the water filter. we can't get water from the inside tap when you push the button but you can hear the pump. we do get ice though. what's up?

Maybe the water reservoir in the fridge compartment is frozen, the water dispenser side of the water fill valve on the back of the fridge is bad or the fountain mechanism is defective?
