I just bought a new Frigidaire fridge, to me it makes too much noise, the last fridge I had was a GE and it was going on 15 years old, I never noticed any excessive running or unusual noises-I just wanted to change colors. According to the book these noises are normal. I also feel it runs too much, I don't know if its me because I am not used to hearing these noises or if I made a wrong choice in chosing this fridge. I chose model FRS26LF7DS7 from Lowes. I would also like to know if there is a certain brand that is prefered, possibly those that don't have a high repair request. My grandfathers Frigidaire has been running for 30 years now therefore I thought this would be a good choice. Any suggestions. I also have on order a matching frigidaire microwave and wall oven, should I go with my orginal decision or cancel and rethink[?]? Any comments.

Most newer refrigerators are noisier than older model were. I don't know any brands or specific models that are exceptionally quiet. Maybe something can be done to its surroundings to help with the sounds as suggest at the following link.

Also, there may be a possibility there is a problem with the unit. You should be able to at least get it inspected once under the warranty. NOTE. Normally if no problem is found, the warranty does not cover the service.
