New Garbage disposal 'humming'

Well isn't this fun. My old garbage disposal was humming and not turning so I just replaced it about an hour ago, AND GUESS WHAT? the new garbage disposal is doing the same thing. UGH! I ran the cord to different outlets around the house figuring that maybe it was the power outlet. Nope...

Anyone have any clues?

Oh by the way. the blades and plate inside turns freely.

The instructions said EXPERT=30 minutes NOVICE=1.5 hours to install . I did it in 4 hours and I'm still stuck lol..

Try another disposal unit - yeah I know it's a pain having to go get another but before you come home with it, have them test run it.
