  • Maytag MAV6200 Washer

I purchased this unit at Home Depot about 4 years ago for $400. It worked fine for most of the time but within the past month, I had to replace the timer (the tub was full of water after a full cycle) at a cost of over $100. It ran great for a few days and then it developed a screeching sound when it was agitating. The tech said it was the drain pump and v-belt, which was replaced for $200. And now it sounds like the transmission is on its way out. I cannot put any more money into this unit. It is time to by a new, warranted washer. I think I will remove the new timer and pump before I junk the rest. If anyone wants a good deal on these parts, contact me at mbak55@comcast.net. I'm sure they will fit other washers as well as the MAV6200AWW. It's too bad they don't make these like they used to anymore.
