  • maytag dryer roller shaft floppy

    the lower roller shaft is floppy, at the point I stopped the braket is not assessable, can that braket/shaft be replaced or can the shaft be tightened?
    the shaft has a hex head on the back side

    Probably but without knowing the exact model of Maytag dryer you have (hint: read the following forum message), we couldn't say for sure. Maytag had sold numerous different dryer designed over the years, they're not all the same.

      Thanx, later that day I found the exploded view on Maytags site, tumbler had to come out, (that braket is part of a larger piece), hex nut on back of shaft, grab the non-bearing surface of shaft with pliers and tighten nut, reassemble, wife happy. two hours includes reasearch, no parts, w/o travel, I live here.
