Sink Drainage

How do I know if my garbage disposal is shot. It seems to spin ok but the sink will not drain.....is that possible?

Your blaming the disposable for a drainage problem. You've got a clog probably beyond the disposal as the disposals have that power assist. but check it first as its the easiest though I really suspect you'll find its further on.
