  • whirlpool lg7811xp dryer

need to replace belt, idler, support rollers, and bearing ring.
How do I open top of dryer- I removed the two screws securing the filter but top doesn't want to slide forward. Is there anything on the rear of the dryer that needs to be removed?

What else needs to be removed to access the rollers etc.?

That model number is incomplete. Did you get it right off the appliance's model and serial number tag?

You can read about opening the cabinet on that design of dryer at the following link:

Usually the front panel and drum.

      whirlpool LG7811XPNO to Dan O

Thanks for the response. I am still trying to understand how to post and respond so bear with me. The complete mod. no is above.

Is this gas dryer worth repairing? Cabinet is in excellent shape and everything else is working.

A new dryer will run approx. $450.

Should be able to buy repair parts for $70. or so.

What do you think? I hate throwing stuff away.

*My* site (Appliance411), this forum site or the one where the cabinet opening instructions were found?? They're 3 different places.

Dan O's site. Seems I had it once with a donation link but haven't seen it since.

There is a link in the menu at the bottom of most of my site pages that says "Support Appliance411". Thanks for the vote of confidence!
