Hello. Your help if possible would be much aprechiated? I have had my dryer a Whirlopool Electric Dryer LER4634JQ1 for just over 3yrs. all of a sudden it just quit heating up and the dial does not turn to off automaticly. It still makes the clicking noise when turning the dial. It still tumbles. Just no heating up. I assumed this might be the heating Ellement as I am no dryer repair man. So I got out my trusty screw gun and replaced the Ellement. Nope that didn't work. Now I turn to you for your help hopefully.

Thank you for your help. I'd like to let everyone know that if all else fails read through the owner's manual under troubleshooting before you go and purchase part after part and waste your money and time. I found it to be the breaker on the dryer, it takes 2 breakers to make it work properly well if one trips the dryer does not function properly. Well in my case it did not trip to off or show the red but all I had to do was reset it by clicking it off then back on and it worked. Wooo Hooo

Krystal your problem as you stated was the breaker. Your problem WAS the electrician that installed the breaker. For any 220 appliance it takes a TWO POLE BREAKER. Not two single pole units UNLESS there is a TIE-BAR between the two. When one breaker contact opens BOTH contacts are to open! Most two pole breakers are riveted together with a factory installed tie-bar. AND some two pole units are one piece with one handle that, internally are connected to the two sets of contacts. So sorry I misled you about the timer motor but I assumed both sides of the breaker were hot.

Hey don't sweat it. At least you replied and tried to help and i appreichiate that! It is one breaker with 2 switches on it. I am not an electrician either. I am just trying to make it. I am not sure what a lot of things are mechanically called as Repairs is not my hobby by no means. But sometimes in life you gotta do what you gotta do. Thank you so much for being kind. I will have an electrician come change out the breaker as it continues to pop when the dryer is turned on. Thank you again.

I think that would be a good idea although if it trips immediately, there could be a problem in the dryer causing it in which case you should call an appliance service technician it out.

BTW. On an 'auto' or 'permanent press' setting, the timer will not advance without heat so just lack of it could be responsible for both symptoms.

PS. I fairly regularly come across double breakers where one was open but neither lever actually 'tripped'. It's always best to flip them off and then on again if there is any doubt about them.
