  • Whirlpool Quietwash won't drain

I'm working on a Whirlpool Quietwash that won't drain. I checked the hose at both ends, and it's not clogged. I even poked around in the disposal and dishwasher output without any luck. When the drain cycle kicks on you can hear the motor running, but nothing drains out and when you open the door quickly you can see and hear a little 'blub blub' at in the bottom wear it drains. What could this be?

I figured that the most likely problem is that it's just clogged so I started to take it apart. I pulled off the spinning nozzle arm. Under the nozzle arm was a cover with a ring of torx screws. I pulled that off as well. But under that torx-screw cover was a spinning black disc with a nut in the middle holding it down. I was scared to go any further without posting here. Am I on the right track to fixing it, or destroying it? Help!

    Thanks,
    Scott

I'm afraid that marketing name doesn't help to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is the machine's exact model number.

You can find tips for locating the model number identification tag on your appliances in the 'Repair Parts' section of my web site linked below.

I hope these numbers make sense. This is all that I could get out of the 2nd grader that answered the phone. If they don't make sense I'll obtain the numbers myself tonight.

I'm afraid none of that information is the dishwasher's model number.

The first looks to be a part number of a motor, the second lthe date code when that part was manufactured and the third looks like a manufacturing number of a motor.

None of that information can be used to determine which design of Whirlpool dishwasher you're working on. Only the model number from the appliance's model and serial number tag will do that. Sorry.
