    Extremely cold freezer

I really need some help in determining the cause of my refridgerator problem. The freezer seems to be extremely cold and the compartment below does NOT cool at all.Is the thermostat non-functional? What do I have to check? There is too much frost in the freezer. Also, the inside of the refridgerator leaks. Now it stopped cooling. Please HELP! Can someone knowledgeable answer me?

    Desperately seeking for a solution.

When's the last time you cleaned the coils?
If it's been awile, I would start there. Unplug the unit and take off the lower back cover and the lower front if there is one.
Vacuum it out and wipe the coils clean.
