Metal Clanking in Garbage Disposal

I have a Kenmore 1HP Disposal. It's still working fine, but there is an awful clanking noise when I turn it on. Is there anything I can do before I call a repairman?

Yes. Make ABSOLUTELY sure that the power is off to it and then stick your hand in it and see what you find.
