I have a 6 year old Whirlpool Dryer Model # LGR5620KQ1 that is Not working correctly. When I set the timer to "Auto-dry" the timer does not decrease but there is some heat inside the drum after running for approx. 30 min. but the clothes are not dry. When I set the timer to "Timed-dry", the timer decreases but the clothes are cold and damp after running for approx. 45 min. I replaced the timer and there was no change.

Gas dryer not drying properly
Drying requires good air flow and heat. The first thing to check for poor drying is usually the venting (see the following link).
LINK > How long can my dryer vent be?
If the venting is definitely not the cause of the problem someone would usually need to look into the operation of the dryer's gas burner. On your dryer model there looks to be a small 'peep' hole on the front of the cabinet beneath the door for viewing its operation. We would need a description of exactly what the gas flame and ignitor are doing when it should be heating.
You can read how a gas dryer burner system is suppose to function at the following link:
LINK > Generic Gas Dryer Burner Functioning
When I set the timer to "Auto-dry" the timer does not decrease but there is some heat inside the drum after running for approx. 30 min.
