  • Portable GE Nautilus Leaks

    Hey all!
I did a search and found a few problems with the portable GE Nautilus, but it looks like I may be having a different problem.

Our dishwasher is model number GSC3400J00BB. About a year ago it started leaking out the bottom. Last month I finally tipped it over to search for a cause of the leak. The only evidence I could find of water seemed to be around the flood switch. Although there wasn’t any actual water evidence on the switch, water stains were present on the catch plate under the switch.

I ordered a flood switch bracket by mistake from applicancepartpros.com so I need to return it because I actually wanted the switch itself.

Would it make sense that the flood switch is somehow the problem? It is not leaking all of the water since most of the water is still coming out of the drain hose into the sink. It is still quite a bit of water coming out of the bottom though. Could the switch be triggering at the wrong time?

    Any help is much appreciated!

Water could be leaking down through the tube the float stem is mounted in or around that tube. Have you inspected that area inside the dishwasher?

The switch could cause overfilling but I would think that would usually lead to leaking out the door before it had risen to such a level it would be overtop of the float stem tube but you could compare the height of each to see where an overfill would leak first.

I tipped it over to search for a cause of the leak.
Have you tried running the dishwasher with just the lower access panel removed to try to see where the leak was originating while in use?

I have not removed the panel to watch in during use. That is a very good idea.

I believe the source of the leak is from the float tube area, but I am unsure about what is causing the leak. That is why I suspected the switch since it is connected to the area. It doesn't seem to leak all of the water, and it only leaks during the middle part of the cycle.

I don't know what would cause it either besides a deterioration of the float stem tube. It is not a usual source for leaks.

it only leaks during the middle part of the cycle.
I don't know why that part of the cycle would function different than any other.
