ge GTS17JBWRWW fridge : owners manual states the evap. fan makes the whiny sound so is there anything i can do to soundproof it. it 's only one month old.i read some post on same problems which most were related to bad board.is there a website with service instructions on how to get to fan?

*I* wouldn't describe the normal sound a refrigerator evaporator fan motor could make as "whiny".

fan makes the whiny sound. it 's only one month old.

If the refrigerator is less than a year old and is making sounds it shouldn't be, you should call for service and have it looked at under warranty.

You can not modify the design of the appliance no. It should not even be attempted or you could void any warranty remaining on the product.
