i have taken the timer out of my maytag washer and one of the green
grounding wires came loose... anyone help me with where else it goes - one
end goes into the timer, the other end goes into the ground screw but there
is a third end which came off while i was diconnecting the timer and I can't find where it goes... help!

any metal area on the timer which is mostly plastic and phenolic. the green wire goes to anything metal on the washer.

      green wire

okay - i get that, (one end on the time and one on the washer) but there is a third part of that wire with a little meat cleaver shaped thing on the end that popped off of something - do you know where that one goes?

      Thanks SO much!

I looked at the repairclinic site specifically at the five timers listed and can't spot anything like you describe. maybe you can take a pix of the thing and post it. or get into "paint" and draw what it looks like.
