1956 Caloric gas stove pilot light problem

I have an old Caloric gas stove that we love, and we do maintain it constantly to keep it clean and working well. It was made in 1956 and looks like the front bumper of a Buick. Recently, when we light one of the left side burners, it seems to suck the air out of the pilot light and it goes out. I have tried increasing and decreasing the size of the pilot flame and have tried cleaning the pilot hole, but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

Fixed the problem...rust had formed around the base of the pilot light holder preventing air to flow through around the pilot flame, causing a sucking motion when the burner ignited.......solved..back to the bacon
