tops of dishes not clean in dishwasher...

I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher. Model # 665.1737...

Just the tops of the dishes in the top rack don't get clean. It looks to me, and my manual vaguely points out, a sprayer feature in the "ceiling" of my dishwasher. I imagine that should spray down on my dishes. I imagine it doesn't and that's why the tops of my top dishes are dirty. My husband says I'm crazy. Am I?

That is only part of a model number, not enough to allow us to look up to see what dishwasher design you have. What's the complete model number (as taken directly from the appliance's identification tag as the forum instructions request)??

Usually, yes. Try placing a cup or glass upright in the top rack and see if it gets filled during a wash.

That might be a slim possibility however dishes in the lower rack are usually washed by the lower spray arm (and/or middle spray arm or spray tower if equipped).

655.17373301. Sorry for the confusion. The repairman I had look at it 6 months ago told me those additional numbers were for color specifics and were not necessary.

As of a few days ago the entire top rack would be dirty. My husband finally looked at it and lo and behold the upper spray arm (middle? the spinning arm attached to the bottom of the top rack) was not sitting just right and hooking up with the water source was hit or miss. He fixed it and now the underside of the dishes in the top rack are getting clean! But the tops are still dirty, which is why I wonder if there is still a sprayer above them malfunctioning.
