freezer puddle

Our side by side refrigerator recently started leaking/producing a puddle on the floor most every time I get something out of the freezer...what is wrong?

There should be a defrost water drain beneath the evaporator (cooling) coil in the freezer compartment. That drain may be plugged and overflowing.
