  • fridge safety

    Hi,

My fridge is making a howling noise, and after reading the other posts, I understand the type of repair it might need. But my question is concerning safety: Should I live the fridge plugged in until the repair guy comes by or not? Is it safe? It's the week-end, and the repair man won't be in until Monday evening. Thanks.

Depending on what exactly is responsible for the sound, such a condition would most often not present any "safety" issues.

But with refrigerators in general, check with the actual service technician or service company before shutting it off prior to service. In some cases a refrigerator has to be left running in order to be able to try to isolate a problem cause. (Just probably not in your particular case).
