  • Add a dishwasher in Englewood Colorado

My wife and I are buying our first house. There is no dishwasher in the kitchen. We would like to add one. There is a cabinet next to the sink that we could use. The other side of the cabinet is next to a wall. On the other side of the wall is the breaker box. It seems like a match made in heaven. We wanted to buy a dishwasher off of craigslist to save money. What should we look for in a used dishwasher. Also how much should this installation cost and what should we ask the contractors/handy men/ plumbers that we contact?

    Thanks

check out the door seal the gasket goes all around the door except the bottom. check out the pump to tub seal. inside the center post is something called the "macerator" blade. made of steel or hard plastic, this grinds up food particles so it can pass through the pump. see if the dryer element works. check the rollers on the upper rack.
for plumbing you'll need a long flexible stainless steel hose, a tee and a valve for the hot water supply. you'll need to rework your drain tailpiece on the sink to accept a dishwasher inlet fitting, or knockout an internal seal on a disposal if you have one.
