I have a new Maytag microwave (MMV1175JZ) installed in November, and twice now, it seems to stop heating, even though it runs. Both times, the gas range below has been on (burners and oven). Also both times, the microwave works fine for about the first 10 minutes. When it stops heating, the power on the microwave seems to increase, like a fan kicks on. After we turn the burners off and let things "cool down", the microwave seems to operate normally. Also, we haven't had any issues when operating the microwave by itself.
I already have a service call booked with Maytag (3.5 weeks out!) just in case this is an issue, but our previous microwave was at least 16 years old, not sure if this a common thing with newer microwaves. The Maytag manual and their customer support is basically useless.
Has anyone heard of anything like this, or does it sound like a defective microwave oven?
