Whirlpool compressor for refrigerator

I have a side by side Whirpool refrigerator and it stopped working (Cooling).I replaced the relay attached to the compressor and now the compressor is hot to touch very hotttttttt. Does the model require a capacitor to be attached to the compressor? Model # ED25TEXHT02

Did it have one originally? If so, than yes it does.

Than I strongly suggest you disconnect it from power before the compressor ($$$+) itself gets damaged!
