  • Weatherproof TV Setup Advice

    Hi everyone,

How well do outdoor TVs or audio systems hold up when installed in covered areas like patios or porches year-round? Do weatherproof enclosures and covers actually provide enough protection over time?

Also, is condensation during colder months something to watch out for in these setups?

    Hey!

Outdoor TVs and audio systems can hold up quite well in covered areas if they’re rated for outdoor use. A quality weatherproof enclosure or cover does help protect against moisture and dust over time.

Condensation during colder months is something to keep an eye on, especially with temperature changes. Good airflow and keeping the equipment dry are important to avoid any issues.

As long as everything is properly covered and not directly exposed, it should last a decent amount of time with regular care.

Is moisture buildup still a risk even if the equipment is in a covered area and sealed inside an enclosure?

Yes, moisture buildup can still be a risk, especially with temperature swings that cause condensation inside sealed enclosures. Even in covered areas, it's a good idea to have some airflow or a small heater or dehumidifier in the enclosure to help manage humidity. Just keeping things sealed isn’t always enough.

Is there a recommended temperature or humidity range that should be maintained inside outdoor TV or audio enclosures to prevent long-term damage?
