  • TV Mounting Bracket Advice

I have a 47inch TV that I am wanting to mount above my fireplace. The problem that I am having is that there is no stud in the middle of the fireplace area where I am wanting to mount the tv.

What type of bracket do you suggest that I get that that allows me flexibility to overcome my problem? Thanks!

Here’s a simple guide for mounting your TV above the fireplace when you don’t have a stud in the middle:
    1. Get a Heavy-Duty Mount with Wall Anchors: Some mounts come with strong wall anchors that can hold the TV even if you don’t have a stud right where you need it.
    2. Use a Universal Mounting Plate: Look for a mount with a big plate that spreads the weight out and can be attached to whatever studs or anchors are available.
    3. Go for an Articulating Mount: These mounts have adjustable arms that let you move the TV around. They can be great if you need some flexibility in placement.
    4. Install a Reinforcement Board: Put up a sturdy board across the wall to spread out the load, and then mount the TV bracket to that board.
    5. Consider a Pro: If you’re not sure or want to be extra safe, hiring a professional installer might be a good idea.

Make sure whatever you choose can handle the weight of your TV and think about how you’ll manage the cables. Good luck with your installation!
