I am thinking of refacing the frames of my stained kitchen cabinets with formica and then just replace the doors and drawers. Can I then drill holes in the formica for remounting the hinges? If so, is there any particular way (drilll bit to use) to do this without cracking/splitting the formica?

Formica drilling.....
Place tape over the area to work and mark that. Then use sharp drills and enter the plastic SLOWLY!!! It helps to drill smaller pilot holes first, but the real key is to GO SLOW while going through that plastic... -
