  • Refinishing Solid Surface Countertops

I've got some minor scratches on my solid surface countertops that I want to remove. The counters have a glossy finish and I was going to use Abralon pads either by hand or on my random orbit sander to remove the scratches and repolish the surface. Since the scratches are minor and the areas small I'd prefer to polish by hand. I'm just not sure what grit to start with with and how high I need to go to get the glossy surface. I can go either wet or dry. Any suggestions?

wet is better. perhaps a fine pumice would be better than a silicon carbide grit.
