  • bay window dents

I have a wood-seated bay window that has been damaged by a children's hammer, resulting in several shallow dents. I've read that I can treat this with a damp cloth and an iron, but I worry about damaging the finish. Does this even work? Hoping for any advice out there. Also hoping to repair this before anyone in the house is the wiser...

    swelling the wood

If the top is made of solid soft wood such as pine you can swell the wood with a small water. The drawback is the finish of the seat. It will get a dull look to it. the water will take some time to sink in also. With plywood for a seat though it will not work.
