  • under counter shims

My wife and I are going through a home remodel. We are putting in granite countertops. We have to have some shim work completed. The guy doing the shim work said that the shims would show underneath. My question is this: How do we cover up the shims? Is it typical to use some sort of molding underneath the counters and at the top of the cabinet? If this is done will it look ok? Thank you, Neil

the cabinets have to be completely level across the top, any shiiming to be done is at the bottom of the cabinets. the granite slab doesn't like shims underneath itself. it must be installed on a perfectly level cabinet.
